Parenting educator Elizabeth Pantley is president of Better Beginnings, Inc., a family resource and education company. Elizabeth frequently speaks to parents in schools, hospitals, and parent groups, and her presentations are received with enthusiasm and praise. Her newest book, The No Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep through the Night offers a variety of sleep-inducing tips parents can use to develop an individual sleep program for their baby.  Pantley’s methods are a gentler and more welcome option for those sleep-deprived parents who just can’t bear to let their child cry it out on their own, and find that approach too unfeeling or uncaring for their baby.

Finding Leaders in the Darndest Places

There are leaders among every group of students. These are the
students who need to be cultivated because they have the unique ability to
influence their peers.

Some
of our greatest leaders were swindlers and thieves. Why aren’t today’s youth
given the same chance?

“If
your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more,
you are a leader.?~
John Quincy Adams

As I
sit to write this article I find myself being reminded of a young lady (though
she would never call herself that) whom I know. She’s a classic anti-leader. In
fact, her leadership qualities are so strong that she could easily be the next
Pierre Elliot Trudeau if she so desired.

Parents and Teachers Can Help Protect Your Child Against a Bully

There seems to be very few things that can hurt a parent more than having their child picked on by other kids.  Protect your child and do not let a bully destroy their self-esteem.

Parents:  Are you afraid your child is the victim of a bully?  Do you recognize the signs?

*          Comes home with torn or damaged clothing, destroyed or missing materials

*          Has unexplained cuts or bruises

*          Has few friends that he/she spends free time with

*          Doesn’t want to go to school or participate in extra school activities
