Post Secondary Education In Natural Healing
Undergraduates who are researching colleges and universities for training in holistic health should look into gaining post secondary education from a natural healing school. Post secondary training is available in a wide range of healing arts modalities, ranging from aromatherapy to zero balancing. The aspiring natural healer will have quite a few decisions to make when researching higher learning from natural health schools.
As the name implies, post secondary education (also referred to as tertiary education) is advanced learning at the vocational, college or university level that takes place after high school. In natural healing, it is a form of higher education sought by those who wish to become proficient in the healing arts. Natural healing institutions offer many levels of post secondary education, from certificate programs to diplomas and college degrees at every level. So, how far do you want to go to gain an education in holistic healing?
Just look at the plethora of alternative healing courses you can study: acupressure, aromatherapy, Chinese medicine, Feng Shui, hypnosis, parapsychology, yoga–the list goes on and on! Perhaps the first step if you are just starting out would be to choose a specific field of holistic medicine, and then find out all you can about what it takes to learn to be an expert. Keep in mind, an education from a natural healing school can differ quite a bit from a traditional college education.
After all, those who are merely seeking a certificate in natural healing would not need to commit to a Master’s program. By the same token, the serious student who is interested in becoming a Doctor of Chiropractic must realize that post secondary education at the doctorate level will take several years of study and experience to complete. So, again, it will be wise to step back for a moment and consider your personal aspirations, proclivities, innate abilities and interests before committing yourself to specific programs in natural healing.
